Modular Unit and Weighing Room Refurbishment
Following a devastating flood which saw the whole building under 3 feet of water, we collaborated with our client to re-design the whole of the Weighing Room to bring in inline with current standards and requirements. Extensive internal re-modelling of the space was undertaken, creating larger, more user-friendly areas.
New walls were built to accommodate the larger rooms, with new ventilation comprising of heating and cooling, a completely new plant room was installed. Along with new ceilings, lighting, flooring throughout the Weighing Room also had new, bespoke bench seating installed along with a large Clerk of the Scales desk, designed, and built by Bentley Rowe. Each changing room has benefitted from new toilets, sinks, showers and vanity units. Learning from our previous experience of collaborating with our client on previous Weighing Rooms we really were able to create a space which meets their needs exactly.
It was identified early on that the current footprint of the building was not large enough to accommodate all of the facilities requirements, so we designed a bespoke modular building to connect onto the existing Weighing Room to give the much-needed space for a Jockey’s Canteen, Physio room and pre-race warm up facilities. The external of the modular building was designed to match the existing façade seamlessly.
